Re: Yang Chen Fu on post-Taiji Walking

Thank You Louis for prompt response. I guess it was not a substantial amount of walking? The reason being is that I have really felt some intense conditioning with recent long distance walking training (about 4 to 5 miles) after reading this from a Taiiji and boxing coach- http://pluguglysboxingblog...

Yang Chen Fu on post-Taiji Walking

I recall reading something about Yang Chen Fu suggesting walking after Taiji practice in the preface to one of his books. Does anyone have a copy of that translation somewhere I can read it?

thanks- matt

Silk reeling

运劲如抽丝"- control "jin" like drawing silk "Silk- reeling"缠丝 in Chen Taijiquan seems to imply a revolvable device inside human body. This is certainly different from “drawing silk"抽丝 taught in Yang Taijiquan and Wu/Hao Taijiquan. I understand Yang Taiji as pulling silk ev...

Re: transcript on Taijiquan

Now my form seems to a healthy and comfortable blend of all of them other than the low stance stuff I might experiment with in the frigid cold. I am curious about how you see the blend. Do you pick and choose between posture variations or form principles, or do you simply take one as a base and inc...

Form training and Hun Jin

Back in 1994 on a visit to Shanghai and when President of USA chapter of Yongnian- Weiqi brought Fu Zhong Wen to USA, I recalled Fu talking about training the form 3 times for an hour and that it creates Hua jin , however I found some old articles that talk about Hun Jin . without seeing the Chinese...

Re: Tai Chi Ho Shi fa

Greetings Ash and Louis everyone else, If someone can explain the difference between blood-Qi and QI-blood, I would be much obliged. Chapter 13 (as translated by Wiles) also says: "Power ( chin 勁 comes from the tendons, and strength ( li 力) from the bones. Speaking strictly from a material poi...
