I will remake another video again...not really satisfied with that one. One of my friends mentioned that it is only showing applications with a semi-willing opponent and not with a truly resisting opponent. I really want to show some effectiveness of taijiquan as a combat martial art against an unwi...

No, It was more like an query as to what happens beyond push hands in a real situation and the Yang Tai chi answer to it. Its known that the Yang founders had fajing training beyond just the practice of Solo form, Weapons, and Push hands. I guess what we presently have are Public teachings available...

Will the real skill please stand up!

Based on all the legendary stories on Yang Lu chan and Yang Pan Hao, Zhang Qilin and others....pushing wasnt the skill that made them famous. supposedly its the fights they had were they were quickly and swiftly fajing a kick or punch into the opponets gut when they were attacked. (source: convo wit...

what is the proper translation of 'san da' ?

my guess is that 'san' is '3' and 'da' is 'attack'. does this mean 3 attacks? 1. hand- as is punching, 2. foot as in kicking and 3. as in throwing.

Taijiquan can be used for san da since it involves those things.

Yielding- you said- "truthfully, i didn't think it possible to produce an integrated issue of energy (a fajin strike) without a firm contact point (meaning the ground/root or some contact with the ground in some manner) - but as you say this isn't necessarily true, so i will keep and open mind ...

Audi- The rules of the competition were Chinese Sanda rules- however it was at a Muay Thai event so the judges were unfamiliar somewhat. Pre-fight meeting a coach from the Nepalese Wushu team Certified that take down score more points and kicks and punches scored lower. A clean throw is when you thr...

First time in ring so bear with some of the sloppiness. I know...i know- you'll say "where is the tai chi?" "its not Tai chi"....It was chinese sanda rules so take downs are legal. Earlier Tai chi practice that day did help with breathing and relaxing. i didnt have my 12 oz. glov...

Wu Chang-Chi,

Yes I am training for a tournament. Yang Taijiquan when performed a few times really makes your legs and body very strong. i can feel just as tired doing that for 2 hours with some push hands just as if I worked out doing physical strength exercises.
