Re: Tai Chi on a beam
Hello Audi, Hope All is well. I saw a 1937 Wu style video with someone playing with a large ball that reminded me of your quote: At one point, I was so desperate for practice that I used an exercise ball to push with against a wall. My strategy evolved into training up partners I could push with, si...

Re: Sinking the Qi
Hey Audi, thanks for responding to my ambiguous open-ended question. I don’t have a direct question but I’d be happy to hear anything more you have to say on this point. Now that is definitely a friendly challenge. :D Let's see if I am up to it. I may have said this to you before, but one of my Engl...

Re: Sinking the Qi
we talk about the Dantian as a reservoir or the main channel in a river system. If that main reservoir is full, all the side channels (i.e., the meridian system) will be full. That is why we do not talk much about the path the Qi takes back out of the Dantian. It will be where you need it naturally...

Re: Yang Chengfu on youtube
Thank you BBTrip for the links. Do you have a favorite Tai Chi video you’d like to suggest? If so, could you share? Fortunately, I get to play push hands with the ocean every day: peng , lu , ji , and an - they're all there in surfing! I like that! I don’t surf but have always admired people who do...

Re: Tai Chi Chuan First Set
The reason it does not look like traditional Yang is that Chen Wei-Ming first studied Xingyi and bagua in Beijing under Sun Lutang, and later studied Yang Taijiquan with Yang Chengfu and I believe his style of Yang Taijiquan is more than a little bit different than what was taught to him by Yang Ch...

Re: Tai Chi on a beam
Hi Audi, This is one of the few competition videos I have seen where I can clearly identify the technique the winner uses. I glad you liked it. I agree with you 100% about being able to clearly identify the use of the winners technique. I search and search and rarely find people who actually use Tai...

Hello Audi, Always nice to hear from you and read your posts. Just an FYI regarding the your comment about the Yang Zhenji Tai Chi Dao video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj0GS_Vb-88 This is basically the form that we do; although it is interesting to see the small differences. I’ve seen and have b...

Hey Audi, Once again, thanks for the push hands exercise suggestions. I find them useful especially the use of the exercise ball. It’s very kind of you to share. Hey Audi, How's it going? I think your eyes are better than mine, because I cannot tell the difference :) . Both look very fluid to me. Your eyes are good; they are both pretty fluid. It was a poor comment on my part. I never should have said it. Here’s a video many people may have seen. It’s Yang T...

Re: Tung Family Tai Chi
Hello Audi, Once again great to hear from you. Wow, that is an extraordinary performance. I especially like the sweep. I have to say, however, that I am glad that is not the form I am supposed to be practicing every day. My legs hurt just looking at the video clip. There are videos of others that si...
