Re: "Taiji's Substance & Application"

Hi All, Very interesting thread. Here is my 2 cents worth; 理为精气神之体 The governing principles are the structure of jing, qi, shen. 精气神为身之体 Jing, qi , shen are the structure of the Body. 身为心之用劲力为身之用 Mind is manifest via the body(movement). The body(movement) is manifest via power and strength. Or Used ...

Re: Tai Chi history

Hi Audi, This thread is another good example of talking passed each other. I did not in any of my post suggest anybody to teach using only Daoist or Daodejing concept. I have already states that using a multiple perspective from Confucian, Neo-Conf, Sunzi, Buddhist, even the Bible is ok with me as l...

Re: Tai Chi history

Hi Audi, All, To continue.... So for a little experiment, you or anybody wished to take part, pls do ; Take the approach that you have not heard of the others accept only on Daoist and the Yijing or Daodejing. Would you then be able to connect '' abandoning self and following the others'' to Daoist ...

Re: Tai Chi history

Hi Audi, I only saw your post yesterday and was typing a reply but it disappeared when I submit. :| Guess was using too much time and got auto lockout. Coming back, I am perfectly aware that you or anyone else is not taking any position and fully agreed that using other perspective can enhance any s...

Re: Solo Push Hands?

Hi All, 如搭手如皮條搭在敵膊,所以我未用力,敵覺我手重如泰山矣,不用直力則巧力生,無濁氣者為純剛。 When crossing hands with an opponent, it is like leather straps have been hung over his arm. Even though I have not yet applied any force, he feels my hands are as heavy as Mt. Tai. By not applying direct force, a skillful power is generated. Bei...

Re: Solo Push Hands?

Hi All, Am posting it to bring awareness to other skill set that are practice in TJQ and in the hope that some would find it useful. I am just sharing my limited knowledge and understanding about internal TJQ, at this point of time. Just do it. Empty mind. Don't think about it. Mindless (or Mindful)...

Re: Push Hands without touching

Hi CD, All, Hi, UTC Here is the eight most effective way of fa jin. Call them methods if you want. I was asked can I do them. I am not perfect. However, if one practice Tai Chi long enough, it will become a natural reflex instantaneously. Of course, with more practice exclusively, in these methods w...

Re: Push Hands without touching

Hi CD, I have not heard him saying that he is able to read/feel energy w/o touching. Yes, your are right to said that you didn't heard him said. Because I wrote , from his speech, not in his speech. However, at 0:05 he was telling the girl that was the energy from her body. Your quote is exactly wha...

Re: Solo Push Hands?

Hi All, Seriously though, my practical use of my "empty mind" goes back to, once again, my time learning from Si Kung Eddie Wu. One of the things that Si Kung Eddie taught me directly was to not think so much about what I was doing, just to do it. "Don't think about it, do it" wa...

Re: Chi

Hi yslim, If it was only an idiom to represent a small force vs.a large force. The only small force I could think of can do this would be a yin yang complimentary force. Because of this; Taiji have yin(1 liang) yang(1 liang),but yin yang is not taiji. To be Taiji yin yang must be one. To be one you ...

Re: Push Hands without touching

Hi CD, Sorry I did not express it clearer. The purpose of ph is to train a student to ultimately learn to detect the opponent energy changes w/o touching. But first we have to train ph via contact. That is , using touch to detect energy. I do not know on what bases you said that it is not practical....

Re: Tai Chi history

It is also worthy of note that the Taiji Classics have references to certain Confucian moral imperatives and pithy sayings that almost certainly have nothing to do with Daoism. I think an example is "abandoning self and following the other." Questions of person-to-person ethics have typic...
