Hi Audi and Louis, <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2"> For instance, a person can talk about "playing with feeling." However, simply having feeling is not enough. The feeling must show on the outside in a concrete way. But merely copying the outside is also not enough...

Hi Roh Mih, You're right, it is risky to send this info from the Philippines. I think it will be safest to transmit via telephone. I suggest you email Nancy Lucero at nancy@yangfamilytaichi.com with your telephone number and ask if she is able to call you. You can add this format to dial the Philipp...

Hi DP, Thanks for your insights into the three move form. It's always struck me that there was a lot contained in that short sequence. There's nothing like a heavy pole to let you know whether you've got your body alignment correct or not. And the visual feedback at the end of the pole is useful too...

Hi All, The one I've learned from Yang Jun is just a short three movement sequence. Thrust forward (similar to the first move in the Vincent Chu video but with less scooping), pull back while shifting the weight somewhat back, then something like roll back (like the movement at the end of the video)...

Hi Bob, I understand Press as a kind of squeezing where two curved lines of force meet and converge--like an asymptotic line. An asymptote never meets the straight line it converges toward--but it certainly seeks the straight in the curved! For a neat visual analogy: MYJ once mentioned that the word...

Fascinating stuff--thanks for posting the Wu Tunan commentary, Louis. Can you or anyone else tell me more about what “lingkong” (airborne) skills are or what "kongjin" is. Translation, etymology, background, anything.

Thanks much,
Kal

Hi Everyone, You know, I'm still wondering what it's like to be on the receiving end of this sort of thing. I was talking to a friend who specializes in energy healing and after he watched the video, he was concerned about the potential for "blowing out" the energy field (creating holes or...

Hi All, I found another neat video demonstrating the principles we talked about here. See the middle for a "no hands" segment that leaves the opponent saying "no thanks" to more, then at the end (about 4:07) there's a neat sequence on adhering energy. If I goof on the link, searc...

Wow, fascinating stuff. I'm intrigued by the kick right after twin peaks box ears--it looks like a variation on the lotus sweeping kick, and distinctly different from the way I've learned the Yang long form. It's interesting to see this alternate version. Also, the turn after step back to ride the t...
