Re: falcon/rabbit
Perhaps there is no difference in Chinese? Hi Frank It nice to consider all thoughts. Howere, as I had said, the emphasis is on the swift action rather on the animals. The main concern is to get the thought to be understood. Too much thoughts will lose the originality of the main idea. Chinese like...

Re: falcon/rabbit
I do not know what was intended with the analogies for TJQ of the falcon and the rabbit or the cat and mouse, but it seems like there could be numerous interpretations of them. If the leg muscles are weak, then the balance of the body cannot be easily achieved. For example, let's go back t...

Re: Balance
In regard to the leg strength and leaning as mentioned in the above post, both are the common factors for most beginners to be encountered with. In Tai Chi, balance is the key to the practice. Please do this and don't do that; it is easier to say than done. Indeed, that is why Tai Chi has to be prac...

Re: Grasping Bird's Tail - Ward Off Left
Greetings!
During practice, as a rule of thumb, I believe that the eyes should be following the leading hand or look forward at times. During combat, the eyes should be on the opponent at all time. Putting the eyes on the leading hand is to have focus and full control of each move.
