Re: Back Pain began after Tai Chi?
Sounds like you should seek a professional doctor. I'd like to recommend try a acupuncturist. The thing with back pain, the Tai Yang foot channel runs down the back. This is the Urinary bladder channel and it is the Yang aspect of water element. The yin aspect of water is the Kidneys. Kidneys are as...

DECODE What Fang Song means with Yang Jun
This clip was posted by a member on Facebook who teaches Yang Family Taiji in Latin America. It is really good and talks about Fang Song. I recommend people to watch it! Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiv8QVISwI4 from this lecture I came up with this image to piece together what he was ...

Re: "External Form" and the Yang Ranking Business
Thanks Chidragon. It is probably better not to vent my frustrations on a forum, but feel it is even worse to hold it in and allow it to burn me up inside. "Express yourself" is the saying.

Re: Yang Family Warm-ups and Two person exercises
I re-visited the Yang family warm-ups and found out they like to do the opposite, rather than from head to toe warm-up they do from foot to head. Which ironically (as a 3rd year student of acupuncture) reminds me of Tui-Na massage theory that working from head to toe is for helps to sedate/disperse ...

Yao in Yang Taijiquan training
I was reading some of the recent issues of Yang Family Taiji Journal and came up with this image so I could understand the nature of the theory and principle of what Master Yang Jun was talking about: anyone care to talk about or elaborate on this subject? http://www.polariswushu.net/blog/wp-content...

Gong Bu: Lengths and Widths
According to the Yang Family website it says: 5. What is a Bow Stance? A bow stance is like the shape of an archer's stance. Knee follows the toe direction and doesn't go past the toe. Back leg is straight but not locked. Shoulder width between feet. Forward and back feet are rooted. If feet are too...

Full contact Da shou, push hands, fighting
Push hands and Da shou skills vs real people trying to knock your head off. Been studying Tai chi for 25 years now, with teachers from the lineages of Cheng man-ching, Fu Zhongwen, Jiang Yu-Keung Xiang Yang-He, Yang Zhenjie, Yang Zhendou, and Yang Jun along the way. https://youtu.be/E9wL-mc8PmU and ...

Mastering Yang Style: Louis Swaim
I'd like to know more about Jin Lu "intrinsic pathway" as discussed by Fu Zhong Wen in the book Mastering Yang Style. I learned some it it back in mid-90's and have reflected on it recently. I heard that maybe Tung yie jie or Chen Wei ming also wrote heavily on Jin Lu pathways as a guide f...

Imperial Yang Taijiquan
Is the Imperial yang Taijiquan offically recognized by the Yang Family as a branch of Yang Taiji? I did research on Imperial Yang many years ago around 2005. There are a few lineages out there and videos of their systems which have about 5 or 6 forms ranging from small frame, to middle frame, large ...

Re: Taijiquan shi: Taiji power enhancement by Xu Yu-sheng
I took some time this morning looking at Brennan's translation, and the two books are very very different. Brennan's has the Chinese and the direct translation and Bradford does not have all of those chapters and goes in a completely different direction with the book and translation. Just reading th...
