Hi yangchengfu04, I learned within the Tung School, and we also begin the long form with the hands rising facing each other, and we use both weighted and unweighted pivots. Tai Chi Chuan is not the movements, it is the principles. The long form is made of movements to which the principles have been ...

Hi Louis, Perhaps frozen is related to cold the way 'to "stop someone cold" in his tracks,' is related to the police yelling "Freeze!" or the idea of "freezing up." As things stiffen up the colder they get I would not be surprised if "cold" and "frozen&qu...

Greetings All, I've been told that the one of the purposes of the long form is to exercise every muscle and joint in the body and do it in such a way that no part of the body is overstressed at any time. That the long form was put together that way without everything having both left- and right-hand...

Hi Audi, The most important thing to know about breathing in both the form and applications is to breathe. Sometimes people have an urge to hold their breath when exerting themselves, and, even though this can be tolerated in a certain percentage of the population, I believe this is incorrect. When ...

Wusherer, Runnning roughshod on someone can include sounding off when you are really not answering the issues. Your answer is not really an answer. At no time have I disagreed with how good internal training can be. You don't have to inaccurately knock running and weight training to elevate internal...
