documental

Post by ruben »

Here are two links to CCTV10 Martial Arts Documental. We can see Master Yang Zhenduo, his wife, Ms. Hu Ruidi and I think Master Yang Bin also appears for a moment.
I hope you enjoy it (and I also hope someone could translate it!).

Hi Rubén,

Thanks for the post. I did enjoy it. Unfortunately, my Chinese is not good enough to understand most of the dialogue; however, I could decipher a decent amount of the subtitles that were not too blurry.

Most of the documentary seems to deal with the known history of Yang Luchan and the spread of Yang Style through him and through Yang Chengfu; however, two things caught my eye. One was the scene that shows some 100 kilo weights that the interviewee states Yang Luchan used for training by continually lifting them up and dropping them down. The other thing was a version of the form that apparently came from Yang Luchan and whose name did not resemble anything I had heard of. The characters were hard to read, so I am not sure what it was called. Perhaps those with better Chinese than me could elaborate.

Take care,
Audi

Hi Audi!

Thank you for answering.

I think it is very interesting what you say about the weight. It looks very difficult to exercise with it, even for a big person.

I hope someone else could translate the rest of the clip.

Regards,

Rubén
