Hello,
I need to find some re-printed or original copies of Chen wei-mings Taijiquan shu. This book is a very difficult book to find. I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a copy in chinese because i know it hasnt been translated. I already have the english version of Tai chi Chuan Ta Wen, and the theories were translated very loosely and not put into context. The reason for that is they do not directly translate to english, I am happy to have the book to reference, however without pre existing knowledge of what exactly the theories mean it is almost impossible to get the true meaning behind the book in english. Just my thoughts please I hope no one takes offense to that. I just want to find the chinese version of Taijiquan shu to preserve it and when my chinese gets good enough and my taiji gets good enough to translate it.

You may be able to find Chen Weiming’s Taijiquan Shu in a Chinese bookstore, or online. There are versions by different publishers. For example, I have a Taiwan reprint titled Taijiquan: Jiangyi da wen he bian 太極拳講義答問 that I purchased a number of years ago in a San Francisco bookstore, East Wind. You may be able to find it using the ISBN: 9576011108. Like here: http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21201240272980
Or, I procured a mainland edition (simplified characters) of Chen’s complete works 陈微明太极拳遗著汇编 through a friend years ago. The ISBN for that is: 9787500910701.

In the meantime, Paul Brennan has posted his online translations of both Chen Weiming’s Taijiquan Shu and Taiji Da Wen. Part of the beauty of his online translations is that you can read both the Chinese and his translation together on the page, and you can search words and phrases in English or in Chinese.
