I have a friend in Denver, CO who's interested in studying tai chi. He is a beginner. Any recommendations on which school he should attend?
I'm far away and don't know what's there. I'm doing Yang style, so it would be nice if there were a good Yang style teacher there so we could compare notes, but the style isn't terribly important when you come down to it.
We're looking for someone with good gong fu, who can teach the martial applications (it would be nice to practice push hands with my friend eventually), but who respects things like martial virtue. I'm not sure if there are tai chi schools out there that teach in the paranoid kill-or-be-killed style of some of the harder styles, but we definitely don't want that!
Any advice?
