Master Yang Zhenduo's book: Yang Style Taijiquan

Post by meghdad »

Dear Friends,
Recently I found one copy of Master Yang Zhenduo's book, Yang Style Taijiquan, in English and bought it instantly. It has been out of print for many years. (you can find the picture of the book here: http://www.amazon.com/Yang-Style-Taijiq ... 7505404814)

Now, I have some questions about this book:

1- Is this the translation of the Chinese book with the same title which is being sold in the Association's website?
The number of pages in the Chinese version is said to be 431 pages and it includes sword and saber forms and 49 forms and so on , but in the translated version it is 231 pages and it does not have sword, saber and 49 form.

So my guess is that the 103 form and applications are the same but in the new edition sword, saber and the rest are added, am I right?

2- In the book there is no information about the translator, only in Amazon website Yu Shenquan is mentioned. Does anyone have any information about the translation?

3- Has anyone checked the translation and if so, is it precise and reliable?

4- I'm curious why no one else has translated Master Yang's book, specially the newer version?

Thanks for your time,
Meghdad
