The best TaiChi video I had ever watched--Yang 85 in 1960

Post by Jeff Zen1 »

Hi all,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaHy2PYdtNY
This is the TaiChi video I think is the best one I had verer watched.
If you did practice Yang style, please provide your comment about this video.
鬼魅神手 董虎岭先生 in 1960.
The video is not in good resolution and is flicking. However, it is a very precious one. The style is quite unique. Now people usually don't have his characterics. Welcome your inputs.....

That video is of the late Tung Huling, oldest son of Tung Ying Chieh.

Also he was a good friend of my shifu who was also a student of Tung Ying Chieh

Greetings,
Tung Hu Ling's form is very distinctive. My sifu was also a student of his father and himself. He does his form much lower than most. His son Tung Kai Ying has a more upright form. Tung Hu Ling tended to express himself more and this can be observed by some quite éxplosive' movements, which can be related somewhat to the Tung Family's Fast Form. The 'skipping' step when he executes the 'Groin Punch' is a movement seen in the Fast Form. Also distinctive with the Tung Family Long Form is a more direct execution of the moves with fewer émbelishments'. There are other unique variations, but that's the way it is.
Take care.
Frank
