Re: Push Hands without touching

its "possible' that they are referring to learning to stick, so that you don't stick. This is saying that after literally thousands of hours of contact interpretation practising, one will stick for exceedingly momentary and exceedingly light touch so as to allow opponent to read as little as po...

Re: Turn after left leg seperation kick

At Bob Glad to see your words above. I was going to do a separate post on a similar topic( embrace the differences), but guess that it might not be understood in context. I might also mention that in my opinion, at least until one has mastered their art, that one should work extremely hard physically on a regular basis. For me, relaxation comes from two directions. One is pushing limits, to sink, drop shoulders, extend just a bit more, exaggerate a body wave to wake ...

So it is mobility. the general is overall control to achieve movement around attacking f...

Re: Lost desire to do taijiquan

i often lose desire to do my tai chi - the same ole, same ole way, that is.. so I have been changing things, which, miraculously, go back to the 'set way' and improve it.. much of what I do is now is isolating and leading with different body parts. let the fingers extend/curl bend back/forwards and ...

Re: Why T'ai Chi is Faster.

faster has many definitions, like acceleration time, end speed, reflex start time and so on.. gun fights are prob different tho I don't really know,, the part up to the trigger snap is only part one can time/ be there first so on. but with launched pushes, punches, stabs etc. usually started from a ...

Re: Serious Push-Hands Question

re Audi's point: If one takes time to sink physically before “engaging” the opponent, one does two things what catches my attention in that statement is 'before' imo, sinking is done before, or immediately upon engaging, but in a time frame of fractions of a second before receiving incoming force. S...
