Re: Faith in the effectiveness of Tai Chi
I really understand what you said with: There are many way to test the effectiveness of Tai Chi beside putting a TJQ practitioner in fighting ring... BUT, and that´s a big one, effectiveness in which aspect? to show stability against a push? health improvement? balance improvement? fighting? if the ...

Re: Faith in the effectiveness of Tai Chi
sorry, he is not using taijiquan. he may say he uses taiji as philosophy, or mind preparation, but not as fighting. tjq has a counter-attack strategy, which is not the case in the videos... how to make a bridge? as we say in southern style - how to get in contact with opponent, how to create/close s...

Re: Faith in the effectiveness of Tai Chi
I just came back from a fantastic two-and-a-half-day seminar with Master Yang Jun. He talked extensively about Tai Chi theory in a fairly comprehensive way. There was no discussion of chemistry that I can recall, but there was a side class by one of the Academy Instructors on biomechanics. Master Y...

Re: microcosmic orbit - xiao zhou tian
Thanks the explanations. Well, in fact, there are more details on books, it´s not only the "ab breathing" per se, but a combination of use of intention, hui yin coordination, reverse breathing, etc. which leads to abundant chi in lower dantien. it seems that the point is, focusing the mind...

Re: microcosmi orbit - xiao zhou tian
What is the emphasis that Dr. Yang J. Ming puts on it? How does he see that it benefits his Tai Chi? Thanks, Audi Well, I only know about what I've read on his books: according to them, to be able to emit jin through the hands, one has to be able to store and circulate qi, so there are stages to ge...

microcosmic orbit - xiao zhou tian

Ming books and he puts a lot of emphasis on the practice of the microcosmic orbit, as an unique qigong method, however, in the books about Yang Style - Fu Zhongwen, and reading the principles, and other...
