When I started learning devilstick-juggling, one of the first things I learned was 'beginners use large circles, experts use small circles,' and the principle seems to apply equally to tai chi. Large movements are much easier to copy and learn, and can be refined down to smaller, more effective move...

how many barehand forms?

This is something that I've been wondering for a while, especially what with half the members of the Yang family teaching their own styles...my teached teaches a 24-form, 40-form and 108-form, but I'm seeing various others mentioned a lot more often on here...any clarification would be appreciated.

Audi, do you have unnaturally supple hands, or do you use special techniques to avoid RSI? Every post of yours that I've seen has been more like a thesis...don't your wrists hurt?

I have to add my 2c here as well. I've been reading through several MA forums recently and this is by far the most intelligent, indepth, and mature forum I've come across. After spending a little too much time in the Jeet Kune Do forum at http://chat.webkwoon.com/ this site is like a breath of fresh...

I honestly don't see what the problem with 'invest in loss' is. Regardless of accuracy in the translation, it conveys the concept very well. http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=invest includes the definition, "To spend or devote for future advantage or benefit." I think this fits perfectly,...
