Thank you very much for your thoughts on this matter. Yes - very sound advice and instruction. This reminds me of 'internal iron vest', whereby the rounded structure of the bones (and joints), can, if need be, adsorb, reflect and deflect incoming force - as well as erve as a radiator of qi in all di...

Opening The Joints.
As part of the general sharing of information and wisdom, I would be very grateful to hear other people's views on 'opening the joints', and the feeling of grounded 'lightness' that results. Of course, we might all approach this from differing contextual analysis - but nevertheless, differing perspe...

Yes - unbroken tranference. Well, what you have written is very deep - it reads like one is actually practicing the form, and viewing it from the 'inside'. Fajin that penetrates another's force, without effort. This is interesting - when incoming force drops into the feet and floor - and/or can be u...

Truly excellent: 'Many people do PH by circling without priciples which may not be right'. This is exactly it. Interesting - the gongfu practice is based upon hard qi, the ability to fight relatively quick (from its Hakka background), but as the student progresses with their training, the qi slowly ...

Now that is very helpful indeed! Yes, everything is useful. We use posture teating, so that the 'feel' of neutral qi can be comprehended when there is correct alignment. This natural 'bouyant' force that emits equally in all directions - and of course, absorbing from all directions - what ajoy this ...

Hi Bob! Yes - sorry for my opaqueness! We train in a school that has a Gongfu element (Tong Bei Quan), and a Taiji element (Yang). Many young people start in the hard qi of gongfu - and then develop an appreciation of the soft - more refined qi. However, some young men inparticular, find it difficul...

Audi - that was brilliant! Yes, the simplest approach is usually the most direct and clear. Sometimes there is an over-complication and and under-complication. I like the idea of ever sophisticated circle drills - leading to ever complexity, until, I assume (and correct me if I'm wrong here), the bo...

Blessings to you Bob! That is very re-assuring. Yes - many of the students think that relaxing is having no strength (internal or otherwise), and others think that emitting is just 'pushing' in a subtle way! There is no expansive awareness. There is no three dimensional awareness around them. Hmmm.....

Book: Yang Cheng Fu Shi Tai Ji Quan.
A copy of this book has come into my possession recently. It is in Chinese. and is signed by Yang Cheng Fu's middle son (Yang Zheng Ji), and his son. It contains pictures of Yang Zheng Ji and Yang Cheng Fu demonstrating the long form. It is very inspiration and a good source book.
Thank you!
Thank you!

That is a very interesting opinion! I would certainly be grateful if you could elaborate on this matter. Of course, Taijiquan is exetremely popular the world over, and I suppose that the chances of ever meeting a lineage teacher are remote! But also, surely, for an inner expereince of insight to be ...

Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge! I have noticed how various masters/practitioners manifest their Qi in different ways - through more or less the same movements - of course, this does have the tendency to 'adjust' the form slightly. Anyway, I value anyone's practice - as it adds to human...
