Re: why not the eight gates and five steps

I'll try to answer your two questions, but please know that I'm trying to empty my cup a bit recently, so the answers may seem a bit convoluted in an attempt to try not to assume that I actually know something about this topic :) In terms of changing from yin...

why not the eight gates and five steps

Notes on push hands and principles: -when pushing hands with the majority of taijiquan players, I have noted that as a general rule, they will have either very good peng, or very good lu, be able to use ji, and be able to use an as a direct shove (not in its real manifestation as a downward energy)....

Re: writing a biography on Yang Chengfu for university course.

What I am currently doing is a very short (30 p) biography of YCF and his place in the Chinese martial arts community, as well as his overall impact on the world. So in essence, I need to balance biographical information about him with the impact of his ...

Re: feiyue shoes

I used to wear Feiyu's, but they don't survive my workouts for much longer than about two months (my main style is xingyiquan), so these days I use pumas. Pumas tend to last really well and also have flat soles, which are so important for internal martial arts practice. :D

writing a biography on Yang Chengfu for university course.

Hello, my name is Robert Coons. I am writing a short biography of Yang Chengfu for a fourth year seminar in the field of history and I am looking for some valuable sources to aid me in giving a level account of his life and influence in the world of taijiquan. My basic premise is that Yang Chengfu i...
