James,

Yes - though a bit more, tried things fast and slow. Agree with you now.

David,

Tried your exercise, much prefer equal opposite reaction going into the ground.

Thank you both.

Steve, Are you so sure? I think it depends on the kick. I think that in the normal front kick (for want of a better description) the waist does less in terms of being a point of focus. With my limited understanding it would appear that with the supporting leg straight the emphasis is in not exagerat...

Yes, my own chi experiences includes jolts etc., but I can't pin-point it to meridian points etc. it feels much more general to me. A lot seems to be connected to releasing emotions. I don't know enough to comment on the 4 energies, but I just wanted to echo Jaime's thanks for a clear lucid description of them. I was thinking in much more linear terms. This clears up a lot for me.
Cheers,
Nick C.

Dave, Yes, basically. IMO the fight doesn't start with contact, but with everything that led up to that contact. To focus only on that is too little too late. From what I've been taught you should already have intention projecting (and spiralling) at the opponent before contact is made. So the first...
