I also supplement my tai chi workouts with additional exercises and you reminded of a few that I might want to add. I find that tai chi works my legs very well, and I don't do anything additional f...

My first instructor taught Repluse the Monkey / Wave Hands Like Cloud with 3 repetitions each, but, you could really do as many times as you had the room for and it was repeated an odd number of times. She also said that however many repetitions you performed RTM with, you also used the s...

I have studied under two instructors. From the first instructor, I learned the 103 posture hand form. This instructor just referred to the form as Yang style Tai Chi. My second instructor is a member of this association. From this instructor I have been correcting / improving / learning the applicat...

YCF describes in his scenario that the attack comes in from a left hand, not right, as I used in my example. So, you would open your opponent's body up with the move instead of going to his...

If you perform the posture straight into your opponent, you will not deflect their attack, but, suffer the force from it, using that particular posture. Let's say you're being attacked by an opponent's right ...

Tai Chi history
Greetings. I have been reading Waysun Liao's translation of the "Tai Chi Classics", published by Shambhala. I purchased the book because of the explanations and examples of chi, jing, li, and the translations of the classic treatises. What I found most interesting about this book was the h...
