I think B K Frantzis's account of pushing with Master Yang are very interesting. It sounds to me like he could play on that level of development. There are other accounts as well.

I don't understand why so many people get hung up on form variations. It's been that way since the very beginning. Everyone of YCF's sons does it differently (even Sau Chung added a few of his own movements) from each other, just like YCF himself eventually did it differently. POTATOE > POTATO > it'...

I like the Dong style. I think they have the right intent in their forms. You can definitely see the spirit of Yang Cheng Fu embedded there.

I wasn't allowed to do any push hands for almost two years at my school. Knowing what I know now, I can see why. I think people who spout off about TCC today not being martial are more caught up in the ego thing and aren't really suited to learn TCC properly anyway. Jerry said it very well.

From my humble perspective (which changes often), issuing energy and sinking the chi both begin with proper form study as their container. As YSC said, the student must comprehend the substantial and insubstantial completely (which is more than I'm probably aware of at this time). I think this is a ...

Indeed, I wish there were more also. It's a darn shame Sau Chung wasn't around longer and he was so reclusive by nature. He was quite the accomplished master in his time. Still, the meat of the book is really in the apps and photo's really; as well as the four corner commentary at the end. It's a ni...

I agree, indeed you have the writers gongfu as well as other talents I'm sure. Now that I have had more time to think about it, I remember reading in Tai Chi magazine when Ip Tai Tak died that he practiced the "snake" style form that he learned from Sau Chung. I believe it is performed ver...
