Re: "When one part moves..."

Hi yslim, Thank you for your detailed elaboration on the yin/yang connection for ''4 ozs deflect 1000lbs'' . I must said that you are really into the TCC principles even though it just for health like you mentioned. It is wonderful to have two great masters, GM George Xu and Sam Chin, to guide you ...

Re: "When one part moves..."

Lim, While I have been studying ILC longer than you, I do not care about things like ‘seniority’ and prefer to acknowledge understanding and skill in applying (or teaching) that understanding instead. Since I am reclusive by personality, I have not followed Sam around and have only taken his biannu...

Re: "When one part moves..."

As a practitioner of both Taijiquan and ILiqChuan (Sam Chin), let me clarify the post by yslim for those that are unfamiliar with the philosophy and concept of ILC. The image of the “steelyard scale” is used in TJQ literature and has, I believe, been discussed previously on this forum (with links t...

Re: "When one part moves..."

Yslim, My apologies for not getting back on here since my last posting. I have been unbelievably busy both at work and at home. And I still am. I didn't want anyone to think I had forgotten my promise to post about my views on "sung". I will, once I get some free time to do so. I am not e...

Re: "When one part moves..."

Hi yslim, Ok. I will elaborate in another way since you did not find the ''connection''. But I feel I am answering something on Karma(cause and effect) 8) . I will make it simple. When we used these two type of fajin, we apply 4oz of Jin to emit the partner 1000lb .(self-explanatory) For ...

Re: "When one part moves..."

[quote="Bob Ashmore"] Yslim, You hit it right on the head. If I started trying to work out the Yin/Yang of movement in this forum, my postings would be longer than anyone would ever care to look at. Yin/Yang relationships are simple, complex, interweaving, always changing... How do you des...

Re: "When one part moves..."

Jim R, I just tried your experiment. I have to assume you are talking about Double Lotus Kick? If so, my experience does not seem to be the same as yours. I only experience knee pain or excessive torque in the "still", weight bearing knee if I try to unnaturally force it to remain perfect...

Re: "When one part moves..."

Hi Bob, It not a big deal. We all do that. If I am not wrong, I believed yslim might have mistaken as well. :? (Hi yslim, maybe you can let me know what is your question. thks.) My way of learning seems similar to yours. First my teacher give a step-by-step instruction to do one move. After ...

Re: "When one part moves..."

Greetings all, This is the 2 of several other method of fajin we are training now. Both are to me different way of expressing ''4 ozs deflecting 1000 lbs ''. D, I have usually encountered this saying in reference to neutralizing and not in reference to Fajin. Could you elaborate on how you see thes...

Greetings Jim, GREETINGS "I'm glad to see the discussion continue. " I AM TOO, AND THANK JIM FOR OPENING THIS DISCUSSION (I AM NOT SCREAMING. JUST WANT MY FONT LOOK DIFFERENT THAN THE QUOTE) "I remain curious about the question " SO DO I. "I asked earlier about whether you ...

Re: "When one part moves..."

[quote="Jim R"]Greetings everyone, I am a Wu Style practitioner. I have a question that I hope will lead to some discussion about a statement in Louis Swaim's book: "The Essence and Applications of Yang Style Taijiquan, p. 117. The specific statement is as follows: "Carve this, e...

Hi Fumin

The best I have seen with plain English that I understand clearly and I can practice with it.
Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom.
