Greetings! Simon: there was a discussion back in 2003 in a thread titled: "Form in 20 minutes?" http://beta.yangfamilytaichi.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000051-2.html There were lots of opinions but basically it was set that no extreme is good (neither too slow nor too fast). In the Newsletter of ...

Hi to everyone Simon: I asked for Master Yan Jun's opinion about this but what I meant was Yang Family's opinion (it's the same). Thanks a lot for your posting. Did you get this information about the trigrams and five elements matchings from the book "Yang Family Secret Transmissions, by Dougla...

I Ching + Tai Chi

Greetings! I was reading the Ranking Theory Tests Study Material and when I got to this question:"How is Chinese Culture incorporated into Tai Chi?" I didn't understand this part quite well. I understand that Earth is nourished by fire, Metal is created by earth, etc. But when it comes to ...

Hi! I just want to say that I think there is Dim Mak in Traditional Yang Style, or at least that's what I have been taught. Two years ago I went to a seminar with my teacher's teacher, Mr. Sergio Arione. He is Montreal's center director (www.taichimontreal.com). He told us that in the movement fan t...

Hi Shugdenla don´t get me wrong: I am not against innovation or developing of a new form. Actually you are right, every single style of Tai Chi Chuan evolved from another (Yang from Chen, Wu from Yang, etc) but what I am trying to say here is that they all have two things in common: 1) They were cre...

Greetings! Simon I totally agree with you. It is pointless to try to recreate your own short form. What for? 30 minutes a day is nothing. Besides, I think that someone who attempts to create a new form should have A LOT OF EXPERIENCE in the field. Someone with 40 or 50 years of training. (Someone li...

Hi Alan As a physician myself, I strongly recommend you to talk about this with your doctor. The way you describe this symptom, it seems like if it is "Tinnitus" (the medical term for Ringing In The Ears). Since it is a symptom, this may be a manifestation of another illnesses like high bl...
