Moral Codes

Post by Sukoon »

Greetings to all,

I was wondering if someone could give me insight on the moral codes of Tai Chi Chuan. Is it written somewhere on the site or is it a live teaching given from sifu to student?

Thank you and happy practice to you all.

There is no moral code per se. The problem is those who have none (were nevr taught by thier 'parents') and may find it odd that someone else may institute said code and have them follow it. The code is the same in life as in taijiquan!

The code is usually unwritten but many people seem to have ignored basic courtesy so a written 'code' is necessary will help to separate the wheat from the chaff.

whatevrer happend to family values so many people parrot and do the opposite regarding humanity?

Hi!

Accoding to Shou Yu Liang and Yang Jwing Ming's book, Martial Morality (Wu De) can be divided into:
Morality of Deed
(http://www.shouyuliang.com/newsletter/v2n4/v2n4a5.shtml)

1. Humility
2. Respect
3. Righteousness
4. Trust
5. Loyalty

Morality of Mind
(http://www.shouyuliang.com/newsletter/v3n3/v3n3a6.shtml)

1. Will
2. Endurance
3. Perseverance
4. Patience
5. Courage

Take care

Beautiful!

Thank you kindly for the link references.
I figured it was an Adab (Discipline) of Life and that receiving it best would be from Master to Disciple but I was looking into finding a written form I could frame and hang Image

Thank you for your replies,
Happy praciticing!

It's a strange tree, with ten branches and no trunk! Image

But all branches derive from their one solid trunk.
Just like all trunks have their roots.

So what is the trunk, and what is the root?

By trunk, I meant a strong and solid Source. And by roots, I meant that the Source is well rooted in and from Life.

All intentions mentioned in the Codes, if not done with Love, will not give good fruit.
The heart must be inspired.

Then, the very same tree, will root itself in there, to grow its solid trunk and have its branches stretch towards the skies.
