Justin Meehan wrote a very good article comparing the style taught by Yang Zhenduo and Cheng Manching. You can find it at www.sataichi.com/compare.html

Thank you for the article by Justin Meehan. His clear writing style answered some of my questions about differences in styles. His fair and non-judgemental tone resolved many of my doubts about TCC work I had done before meeting the Yangs. This article was refreshing in light of the recent discussions on the "board" which had taken a negative turn. Thanks again Jerry for all your efforts.

I was introduced to this article a couple of years ago, and it helped me resolve many issues that had been slowing my progress. I wholeheartedly recommend it, since I think many people to do not give due weight to the differences between these two teachers. Much of their terminology is shared, but in my opinion, much of the essence is very different.

I have my own preference as to which teachings are more helpful for me at this stage of my practice and given my circumstances, but I agree with Charla that the non-judgmental tone of the article was quite refreshing. Great idea, Jerry, to post this link.

One of these days I am going to finish the promised review of this. An essential classic for this style.
