name your style!

Post by nanzer »

just curious to see what name your teachers have given to their style. i know one who teaches "popular style", i'm learning a "family style" how about you, imperial, popular, mixed? not really interested in all the background information on your style, just thought it might be interesting to hear what everyone's teacher's are calling their particular styles.

I have studied under two instructors.

From the first instructor, I learned the 103 posture hand form. This instructor just referred to the form as Yang style Tai Chi.

My second instructor is a member of this association. From this instructor I have been correcting / improving / learning the applications of the 103 posture form as taught by GM YZD and M YJ.

I am also currently learning / practicing the Yang family 13 posture sabre form.

Respectfully,
Wu

Hi Nanzer,

Your experience seems to have been different from mine. Even though I have experienced teaching that was quite different, all my teachers merely termed their art “Yang Style Tai Chi” or “Tai Chi.”

Take care,
Audi
