Greetings to the administrator.
I have been posting on the forum for a few days. So far it seems very different for other forums, in which people argue over stupid subjects and offed each other, making me wonder if Im in a Martial arts forum or...I dont even know what to compare it to!!!
I appreciate the chance to post here, Im a long time practitioner of yang taijiquan, I love it more than anything in life, and even though I get frustrated from time to time and promise myself to quit, Its benefits are too real and present in my life, and are to precious to deprive myself from them!!!
Most of the frustration comes from the attitude of some modern practitioners. I am no master, nor I try to br one, but I think they are lost and incapable of understand what this living art is about. Their unprovoked criticizm, even though I try to ignore it, can sometimes affect me more than it should.
Why do I tell you this??? Because I havent encounter anyone like that i here so far and it a wonderful feeling!
You can expect from me the same kind of respect everybody seem to have towards each other, and the assurance that I'll do my best to share whatever little info I have that can help all members improve and have a meaningful discussion, just as their coments will tech me and help me gain a deper understangid of the art.
Thanks again,
Ray Villa
greetings

A Tea House, perhaps...?
That's a very thoughtful posting.
I have not frequented other Martial Arts Boards...And so have only heard the stories...but they seem similar to your comments.
Glad you like it here...
I am enjoying the discussions here myself tremendously...very civilized, friendly group
Enjoy!
Thank you,
Best regards,
Psalchemist.

Welcome, Ray. I know what you mean. Different strokes I guess. The big rules here are: avoid personal attacks, try not to criticize other teachers, styles, lineages. I try to be a benevolent dictator here and admit I'm pretty arbitrary about it. If someone strikes me as a heckler or troll, or trying to stir up discord between various Yang type styles, etc, I take away their posting priveleges.
