Quan Pu - Missing Moves in CMC version
Posted: Wed Aug 13, 2008 4:32 pm
I tried posting this on another forum with no response so perhaps someone here can assist.
I am doing a Quan Pu comparison for the Yang Taijiquan Tao Lu and I was curious if anyone is aware of the reason Cheng Man Ching removed the below list of moves from the Yang Taijiquan system when he created his 37 Movement Short Form?
The following is a complete(?) list of what is missing from the Cheng Form compared to the Long Form which is comprised of 37 Unique Forms or Postures.
1. Turn Body and Strike
2. Needle at Sea Bottom
3. Fan through Back
4. High Pat on Horse + High Pat on Horse w/ Pierce Palm
5. Step Forward, Plant Punch
6. Hit Tiger
7. Twin Peaks Strike the Ears
8. White Snake Darts Tongue
9. Cross Shaped Legs
Any speculation would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Randy Brown
