yang family falchion

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and almost new to the 13 saber form.
I would like to know the origin of the falchion that is used for the saber form. Nowadays we mostly see the oxtail dao. The falchion looks more like the goos quilt dao. Except the different guard. I would like to know who started using this falchion. Was it already in use by Yang Chengfu or earlier or later. And why.
Hope somebody has an answer.

It has been said that it was the combined efforts of Liu Dekuan, Yang Cheng Fu and I believe 1 or 2 other individuals.
