Does anyone on the forum practice Tung Ying Chieh's (Yang's) Spear Form? There is a beautiful photo of Mak Ying Po on Andy Wong's website of this Spear Form. I think this might be one of the only photos of Tung's Spear Form on the web. There must be some other Tung students out there doing this form.

Have you seen this page of photos from Chip Ellis' site?

http://www.chipellis.com/Pictures/Spear ... ar_set.htm

And here's the source from which the photos come: Paul Brennan's online translation of Yang Chengfu's first book, written by Dong Yingjie: https://brennantranslation.wordpress.co ... hiyong-fa/

Take care,
Louis

I practice the two person spear drills shown in Brennan’s translation in my staff training (held in thirds rather than at the end as with a spear).

Wu style also appears to have the nearly identical drills:

Thank you for the helpful materials. It makes sense to check Yang's earlier book. I also like the idea of doing a moving step sticking drill as shown in the video. That could be very beneficial towards all of the Tai Chi skills.

I started learning it, but it was a long staff form, not a spear form. my sifu was a student of Tung Ying Chieh. However I had to stop due to knee injuries I got, not related to taijiquan or the long staff form. I am now back training and hope to return to it once I get the other forms back
