Greetings,
I’ve just begun reading a new book by Brian Kennedy and Elizabeth Guo, _Chinese Martial Arts Training Manuals: A Historical Survey_. So far, I’m really enjoying it, and find it to be very informative about various issues of authorship, historical context, and content of early martial manuals. There are some very nice illustrations and photos, helping to capture the authentic flavor of early Chinese manuals, some of which are quite rare. Check it out. I would be interested to hear other folks’ impressions once you’ve had a chance to read it.
Take care,
Louis
