Jerry,
He has mentioned a hand out. I was just hoping to get a jump on things.
Thanks.

Written theory test

I've been working toward ranking and looking over the ranking requirements I see there is a written theory test involved. I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what specific areas of theory were involved? Also, what would be a good reference for studying the theory required for the testin...

WB,
I found those things out the hard way myself.
I don't think we're the only ones, either.
I also used to fancy myself as somewhat accomplished, then I ran into Yang Jun...
Now I know better.

Anderzander,
Yes, I got it. I was speaking to those naysayers I mentioned in general.

Anderzander, I don't know that there is too much actual, real, meaningful debate as to the skill level of Yang Cheng Fu. There are those who like to denigrate people who will always say that "so and so's skill level was not up to that of his brother/father/uncle fred/aunt mildred/cousin zeke/va...

Shudengla,
Well said. It is the principles that are important. As long the principles are contained inside a form the form is good.

b, I'm sorry to hear she isn't still releasing that tape. I'm very glad I allready have it. The tape is really very good. She's definitely got a fan club here at our Center. We use her tape as the standard for our 13 posture form. Bill teaches this form twice a week that I know of. He teaches it on ...

bkavanaugh, Oh, yes, they would be very helpful for this. I can help you with that, I go to the long form tapes all the time for these moves so I'm familiar with which ones to look at. The Preperation form and Beginning should be VERY easy to get, they are identical in all respects to the 103 postur...

Artyeo, It is not a question of overloading and taking a long time to download, it is a "page not found" error and it happens immediately upon clicking the link. When I right click and choose "save target as" I get the same error, that the page simply cannot be found. I have trie...

bkavanaugh, I understand this discussion to have been about the 13 Posture form listed on this website, yes. This form was created, as I understand it and I might be wrong, by Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo. I don't believe I've ever seen a video or DVD of this form made by either the GM or by Master Ya...

Wu, I do believe you are correct on that. I don't know if the Grand Master said it in his book or not, but I also do the same number of repetitions of WHLC as RM when I change it up in the form. I must have read it someplace. I'm going to go to my book when I get home tonight and find the relevant p...

Ah, found it. Saber form. Very nice to observe the fluid motions Yang Zhen Ji is capable of. Wishing I had anything near that kind of talent. Maybe in about fifty years, IF I pay attention, I might get half way there. I have no idea who the young gentleman is doing what is called Yang Ban Hou Pao Ch...

Cesar, I really like this clip of Yang Zhen Ji, thank you for sharing this resource with us. His form is superb. I only wish his whole form was displayed as I love the way he performs these moves. Of course there are differences in the forms, we've certainly covered that topic quite a few times. Wha...

Yuri,
I feel certain that you are on to something with that. I have only peered with the lightest interest into Chinese medicine, so would have no insight into these origins.
However, the idea had to come from someplace.
